Good morning 5 Bulleters, <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I'm fresh off the back of a beautiful poetry evening here in Barcelona. Organising these beautiful in-person encounters with local poets and audiences has put a spring in my step - and helped push me to write more poetry. In fact, I'm sharing one quick poem from yesterday below. So, without further ado, I'm delighted to share 5 social tips, tit-bits, treats and talking points, all of which I've come across or re-discovered over the past 2 weeks! Please enjoy!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1. What I'm re-reading<\/strong>: 2022 Notes on 'Petspiracy'<\/u><\/a><\/u><\/strong> - Last week, I dived into some dusty old drives to look at my notes on \u2018Petspiracy\u2019, the name I gave to an issue I personally feel needs far more airtime. The proliferation of pets in our societies, primarily dogs and cats, seems uniquely a cause for concern to me. Several years ago, I started working on a blueprint for awareness raising on this issue. Back then, apparently for a lack of time, I dropped it and turned my attention to a related, more publicly palatable initiative which became Mascotas clim\u00e1ticas<\/a>. Rediscovering these notes, however, have whet my appetite \u2013 I enjoyed re-reading them. I hope you'll enjoy them too!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/em><\/strong>2. What I'm using: <\/strong>Web Highlights<\/strong><\/u><\/a> - As I move on in my book writing process (yes! I'm writing a book!), I have been looking for a frictionless research tool to help capture and organise notes across the web. This little tool is fantastic!<\/em> It makes it incredibly easy to highlight text, organise bookmarks, photos and quotations with tags, and search through. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

3. Poem I'm sharing: T<\/a>urn of the Year<\/a><\/u><\/strong> - Just for fun, here's a little poem penned yesterday for the theme of our poetry night: turning points. I hope you like it! It probably needs to sit for a few days and before getting a haircut. A little audio recording also available!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

4. Videos I'm in shock of: Dairy UK 'Educational' Videos<\/u><\/a><\/u> <\/strong><\/u><\/strong>- In the course of my book research, I watched the whole suite of these 'educational' dairy videos with a dropped jaw. This psuedo-science aimed at greenwashing the industrial rearing of cows for milk shouldn't be allowed! Watching these, you'd think cows were actually helping the environment, rather than actually looking like this:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

5. What we're printing: Gaza Food Project Posters<\/u><\/a><\/strong> - We've already got poster activists across multiple continents. If you can help raise funds to support community-led kitchens and projects in Gaza, become a Poster Activist<\/u><\/a> and help get aid to Gaza. You can also simply donate<\/u><\/a> - or get involved in our coordination team by emailing act@gazafoodproject.com! All help spreading the word is really appreciated!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
