Good morning fellow activists and amigos!
This week's 5 Bullet Friday will be super snappy and focused exclusively on 5 out of 11 incredible projects that we're now regularly supporting through the Gaza Food Project. To understand what we're doing, we've just released a wonderful new animated video introducing the campaign - if you can stand my voice-over that is! Hardly Attenborough or Freeman.
As Ramadan begins this coming week, getting support to these organisations takes on even greater significance You can make a donation that supports our coalition of kitchens here. But, without further ado, I'm delighted to share this fortnightly 5 Bullet Friday with 5 Palestinian and community-led kitchens and mutual aid projects in Gaza.
1. Cooked food: We Love Gaza - We came across this group through a personal recommendation. Ihab, who runs it, does incredible work mobilising volunteers to cook and distribute food around Nuseirat Camp in Gaza.
2. Family support: Gaza Food Relief Project - Run by two brothers, this hyper-local initiative supports over 50 families with cooked and dry food, medical support and shelter items. They're an incredible duo who are highly motivated to support those around Al-Daraj Camp in Northern Gaza.
3. Food and hygiene : Healing our Homeland - This women-led initiative goes beyond just food and supports additionally with water, cash assistance and hygiene items. Referred via our network in Palestine, their work also takes place around Nuseirat Refugee Camp in Gaza.
4. Water access: Ele Elna Elak - Alongside food, water access is critically limited. That's where groups like Ele Elna Elak come in, who work not just with emergency water distributions, but to expand water access, as well as other activities such as debris cleaning.
5. Meals and community: Shifa' Healing - Back in Northern Gaza, Shifa' Healing are renowned for their large-scale cooking activities, water distributions and general community healing activities. They're a force to be reckoned with and just don't stop!
